The transcript is the interface

Timestamped. Labeled. Replayable.

The Source Viewer plays the session with live transcript segments — who said it, when, and in what words. Search inside the transcript, copy it out, read it full-screen, or let it follow playback while you listen back.

Synthesis

Themes across sessions, receipts included.

After five interviews, the real work starts. Ask AI what participants said about a topic and the answer arrives with source chips — one tap opens the interview, one more replays the moment. Synthesis you can defend in the readout.

From tape to draft

Write the piece next to the proof.

Draft the article, insight doc, or readout in the same note that holds the tape — a native block editor with headings, quotes, todos, and document links. Pull a quote, keep its context one tap away, and ship the draft without switching apps.

FAQ

Interview notes, answered.

Do interview transcripts show who said what?

Transcripts are timestamped and can include speaker identifiers with display names. Segments highlight during playback, so it stays clear who was speaking and when.

How do I verify a quote before I use it?

Tap the transcript segment and Phrase seeks the recording to that moment, so you hear the quote in context. The source stays attached to the note, and transcript search, copy, and full-screen reading make checking fast.

Can I import audio from a dedicated recorder or another app?

Yes. Phrase imports audio files, so interviews recorded elsewhere become structured notes with transcripts and summaries when processing succeeds. Video imports work too — Phrase keeps the video and transcribes its audio.

Can Phrase find themes across several interviews?

Ask AI can answer questions from your notes and show the source notes behind the answer, so you can ask “what did participants say about onboarding?” and open each interview it drew from. Answers come from your notes’ content — and you can always verify against the tape.
