Privacy Policy

Overview

Phrase is an Apple-native note-taking app for fast capture, media-to-note workflows, search, editing, AI assistance, Artifacts, and optional iCloud Sync. Phrase is available for iPhone with Apple Watch companion surfaces today, and a macOS app is in development. This policy explains the kinds of information involved when you use those features.

Information you provide

Phrase may process notes, artifact content, artifact bundles, recordings, audio files, PDFs, images, videos, transcripts, prompts, search queries, exported files, and support emails depending on the features you use.

Media and AI processing

Media-to-note features may upload prepared media to Phrase services so the task can create a structured note, transcription, summary, and organized body when processing succeeds.

AI chat, inline AI, AI search answers, and Artifact generation or editing may send relevant note content, transcript excerpts, artifact content, prompts, and tool results to the model service used by Phrase to generate a response.

Device permissions

Phrase asks for Apple platform permissions only when a feature needs them. Examples include microphone access for recording, photo library access for image import, speech recognition for transcription workflows, notifications, Calendar, Reminders, and clipboard access for assistant tools.

iCloud Sync

Phrase Pro can sync notes through iCloud. iCloud account availability, storage, and sync behavior are controlled by Apple and your device settings.

Purchases

Phrase Pro purchases are handled through the App Store. Phrase may use purchase status to unlock Pro features such as AI chat, inline AI, AI search answers, more media-to-note usage, iCloud Sync, and unlimited notes.

Your choices

You can choose not to grant optional platform permissions, delete notes from the app, disable iCloud Sync where available, or contact support for privacy questions.
